The Achema innovation champions were honored on 12th June 2018 and PLCnext Technology won in the category Instrumentation, Control & Automation. In eight overall categories, the most innovative products were chosen from five shortlist candidates out of about 100 entries. Additionally, there were awards in the three special categories Flexible Production, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Logistics, and Biotech for Chemistry, based on the main topics of the Achema fair. At the award ceremony in Frankfurt, the shortlist candidates and prize winners celebrated with approximately 250 guests.

 The PLCnext Control AXC F 2152 is honored as Winner with the German Innovation Award in the category Connectivity. The industry controller won through over 650 competitors in 34 categories. The award was presented to Wilfried Lücking, Holger Meyer, Ulrich Leidecker today, 6th June 2018 at the Deutschen Technikmuseum in Berlin.

The process to find the most deserving product or project is unique: Companies can only participate if they were nominated by the expert panels and scouts of the German Design Council. This process guarantees the awards independence and excellence.

The German Innovation Award honors products and solutions across industries that primarily focus on the user and have an added value compared to previous solutions. The award is conferred by the German Design Council. The jury comprises independent, interdisciplinary industry, science, institution, and finance experts. The evaluation criteria of all submissions are level of innovation, user benefit, and efficiency.

Tutorial: How to use the embedded controller PLCnext Control as a classic PLC?

This technical tutorial explains how to use the PLCnext Control as a classic programmable logic controller. It also shows programming according to IEC 61131 in a new project in which the in- and outputs of I/O modules are created, transferred to and tested at the PLCnext Control.

 

 

 

Last week, at the annual PNO Plugfest, over 60 people from over 20 different companies connected and tested their Profinet devices in order to establish a stable connection. At the event, all main Profinet Technologies were tested e.g. PROFIdrive, PROFIenergy and the High Availability Profile.

As part of the Profinet Plugfest, Phoenix Contact tested several Profinet devices and controllers such as the new PLCnext Control AXC F 2152. Apart from the PLCnext Control, the company also tested 2 Profinet Devices, which are still in development, with the Profinet redundancy (S2 redundancy). During testing, small vulnerabilities were found that can now be used to purposefully continue and finalize the development. Due to the large number of present Profinet devices, realistic tests of larger plants were able to be carried out. Even here, bugs were found in the detail which can now be resolved quickly.
