Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, will integrate the Virtual PLCnext Control software solution from Phoenix Contact as part of its solution for manufacturing industry.

Manufacturing customers of Phoenix Contact will be able to use Alibaba Cloud’s cloud and edge infrastructure offering, starting from Greater China and Asia. The cooperation between the two companies was announced at the SPS automation trade fair in Nuremberg 2024.

Alibaba Cloud is thus expanding its range of cloud solutions to the OT sector. PLCnext Technology is the open ecosystem for industrial automation from Phoenix Contact. The use of Virtual PLCnext Control also enables the use of PLCnext Engineer and access to the PLCnext Store.
